LAN (Local Area Network)

Local Area Network (LAN)
is a group of networked computers, usually located within a specific geographic area such as a building or factory. You will get more out of your investment with your computers connected onto a Local Area Network (LAN). The hardware and software required has become less expensive, easier to use, and faster in speed. This service is currently offered at four speeds - 4 Mbps Toke Ring, 10 Mbps Ethernet, 16 Mbps Token Ring, and 100 Mbps FDDI.
What LAN offers?
Migration from peer - to - peer networking

VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network)
A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a group of computers on a network whose software has been configured so that they behave as if they were on a separate Local Area Network (LAN). Computers on VLAN do not have to be physically located next to one another on the LAN.

End-users depend on the V-LAN Network to provide dependable control and synchronization of any device they prefer to implement into their systems and to provide an easy method of expanding and integrating new devices as their production needs grow. A VLAN can be set up as a solution to allow a workgroup to use less network bandwidth and communicate more privately.
