IP Telephony symbolizes a new technique of providing telephone service. In
times gone by, telephone systems have used devoted equipment to provide only
telephone service. Rather than using dedicated equipment, IP Telephony will use
much of the same infrastructure as a data network. It will accomplish this by
converting sound into small packets of data and transporting them via the
regular Internet protocol (TCP/IP) between telephone sets.
IP telephones work just like regular phones, only they have individual IP addresses and connect
to a standard data network instead of a proprietary PBX. Epsolon’s IP engineers
have been providing highly-reliable, fault-tolerant IP telephony solution to
the existing client base. |
